The marketing ploy of the year gets underway tomorrow (September 24) as Guinness mark their 250th anniversary with a number of gigs and a ‘worldwide’ toast. A bit of a blessing for the organisers – and the tabloids – is that it should feature the first gig of the ‘new’ Sugababes. This is Sugababes Mk 3, I think after, gradually each founding member has been ousted. They may pull tomorrow night’s Vicar St show of course, but they’re scheduled to perform. The most surprising thing? Well, after seeming to have been in the group forever (11 years to be exact) the newly ousted Keisha, pictured far right, is only 24-years-old. Shocker!
Me? I’ll be in Whelan’s looking forward to catching The Hot Rats, seeing Lisa Hannigan live for the first time in her solo guise, and I’m actually quite looking forward to David Gray and hoping he’ll play some White Ladder and pre- White Ladder material……and I’m also looking forward to a few pints of the black stuff!
